Field Technician

Location: Bainbridge, NY

Compensation: $20.00 per hour starting pay. The initial paid trial/onboarding period uses the existing field-technician trial process; service specialization follows training and evaluation.

Join the IGS field team based in Bainbridge and help deliver solar and heat-pump projects. Start with general crew responsibilities, training and onboarding. Your service specialization is assigned after evaluation of your skills and readiness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare job sites, organize materials, and handle tools and equipment with care.
• Assist the crew with solar installation and heat-pump installation tasks appropriate to your training and assigned supervision.
• Follow site instructions, use required protective equipment, keep the work area orderly, and report hazards or quality concerns promptly.
• Record work progress and communicate clearly with your Team Leader and project team.

Qualifications

• Practical familiarity with hand and power tools and willingness to learn IGS methods.
• Reliable attendance, clear communication, safe working habits and comfort using a smartphone for work updates.
• Construction, roofing, electrical or mechanical experience is useful; specialist credentials are not presented as prerequisites for this general entry role.
• Ability to perform assigned site work, including outdoor and rooftop work where required, with appropriate training and safety measures.

A valid Class D driver’s license is required. Initial trial terms and subsequent role-specific pay and benefits are provided through the applicable offer process.

Onboarding and development

Complete onboarding and the existing paid trial/evaluation process before assignment to a service-specific role. Development toward Team Leader is a separate progression based on demonstrated skills and responsibility.
