The ground beneath your home stays 50–55°F year-round. Geothermal taps that constant temperature to deliver 3–5x more energy than it uses — no combustion, no propane refills, no rate shocks. NYSERDA's largest clean-heat rebates go to geothermal.

Geothermal systems produce 3–5 units of heating energy per 1 unit of electricity. No combustion, no wasted heat up the chimney — peak efficiency year-round.
Unlike air-source heat pumps, geothermal doesn't depend on outdoor temperature. The ground stays 50–55°F year-round — peak efficiency even on the coldest NY days.
Indoor components last 25+ years. Ground loops last 50+. This is generational infrastructure — it outlasts every other heating system.
Geothermal receives the largest NYSERDA Clean Heat incentives — significantly more than air-source heat pumps. Amount varies by utility, home size, and system specifics.

We walk your property, evaluate loop field options (vertical, horizontal, pond), and discuss your heating/cooling needs.
Our in-house engineering team handles the full system design — loop field layout, equipment selection, and distribution plan. You get a detailed proposal with every rebate you qualify for.
We install both vertical (drilled boreholes) and horizontal (trenched) ground loops — whichever fits your property best. We handle permits and all site coordination. Vertical loops typically complete in 1–2 days onsite.
Indoor unit install, connection to your home's distribution (ducted forced-air, hydronic radiant floor, baseboard, or a combination), commissioning, and full homeowner walkthrough. Geothermal pairs with all common distribution systems.
Geothermal is a big investment. We'll walk you through the math honestly — including cases where air-source HP or a hybrid might be a better fit.
Reviews from real IGS customers across Upstate NY.
“We replaced a 30-year-old oil boiler with geothermal. First winter our heating cost dropped by more than half, and we got AC for the first time. Best home investment we've made.”
“The upfront cost was real, but the NYSERDA rebate covered a big chunk. Our electric bill barely moves month to month now. Should have done this years ago.”
“Quiet, invisible, just works. No outdoor unit to look at, no noise. The IGS crew installed the loop and unit in under a week. The desuperheater handles most of our hot water for free.”
How much does a geothermal system cost?
Cost varies with home size, soil conditions, and loop configuration (vertical vs horizontal vs pond). After NYSERDA rebates, the effective cost often lines up with a premium conventional system — and the lifetime operating cost is dramatically lower.
Does my property need a lot of land for a ground loop?
Not necessarily. Vertical loops require minimal surface area — a standard suburban lot is usually enough. Horizontal loops need more land but cost less to install. We recommend based on your property.
How long does installation take?
A typical residential geothermal install runs 3–7 days once we start onsite. Loop drilling is 1–2 days; indoor tie-in and commissioning take the rest.
What happens if the ground loop fails?
HDPE ground loop pipe is rated for 50+ years. Loop failures are exceptionally rare — we pressure-test every loop before backfill and commissioning.
Can geothermal work with radiant floor heating?
Yes. Geothermal pairs well with hydronic radiant floor systems. We design and install the complete package.
What about my existing ductwork?
If your ducts are in good condition and sized right, we can use them. If not, we'll either upgrade or recommend a ductless configuration. The Manual J + duct analysis is part of the design phase.
What brands do you install?
GeoStar (Authorized Dealer), ClimateMaster (Certified), and IGSHPA-standard equipment. We match the unit to the loop design, not the other way around.
