What will geothermal cost for my home?
Drilling or trenching, heating load, equipment and changes to your ducts or hydronic system affect the price. We prepare an itemized proposal after reviewing your property, with utility rebates and the potential NY tax credit shown separately.
Can I combine the NY tax credit and Clean Heat rebates?
Yes. Qualifying projects can combine a utility rebate with the NY geothermal tax credit. We show both in your proposal so you can see how they contribute to your upgrade.
Will geothermal work on a small lot?
A vertical loop can need less surface area than horizontal trenches. Drilling access, setbacks, utilities and ground conditions still matter. We review your property before recommending a loop type.
Will it work with my existing ducts or baseboards?
Suitable ductwork may be reusable. Radiant floors can pair well with water-to-water geothermal, while baseboards may need changes to deliver enough heat at the system’s water temperature. We check your distribution and heating load before specifying equipment such as GeoStar or ClimateMaster.
What happens to my yard during installation?
Drilling or trenching requires equipment access and disturbs part of the property. Your proposal should identify the work area, access route and restoration scope. Timing depends on the site, permits, equipment availability and weather.
Will I still have an electric bill?
Yes. The heat pump and circulation pumps use electricity. Geothermal can reduce heating costs, especially compared with oil, propane or electric resistance, but the result depends on your rates, home and system design.
What maintenance and warranty should I expect?
Your proposal lists equipment and installation warranty coverage. At handover, we explain filter care, service needs and who to call. The buried loop and indoor equipment have different maintenance and warranty requirements.
